I purchased this book prior to my daughter's heart surgery. As soon as she opened it, she started filling it out. She loved the characters in the book that helped her show us how much pain she was having at the time. She loved the autograph section for her doctors and nurses to sign. This journal allows kids to keep a memory of their surgery and it helps them verbalize their feelings. I would have never known my daughter felt nervous b/c she never verbalized that she was nervous but when she drew a picture of herself she told me that was a picture of her "nervous" face. This journal will be a great memory keepsake for my daughter when she is older. She will be able to look back and see how strong she was when she was younger. I will buy one of these journals again if she needs surgery again.
