More than just a Board review for USMLE Steps 2 and 3, Blueprints Pediatrics, Fourth Edition can help you during clerkship rotations and subinternship. This popular Blueprints book has been refined and updated while keeping its concise, organized style, clinical high-yield content, and student-friendly features. This edition includes a new adolescent medicine chapter, new guidelines regarding the febrile infant and urinary tract infections, an updated cardiology chapter reflecting current USMLE requirements, expanded coverage of aberrant development and developmental delay, and completely revamped oncology and infectious disease chapters. The Blueprints book is good. It is pretty concise and readable. Probably doesn't contain all the info you need. The one I got unfortunately had a lot of writing and highlighting in it, but it was ok.

This series is FANTASTIC for any medical, DO or PA student. They give you the nuts and bolts of most disorders seen in 2 pages. They are easy to understand and read. They are a wonderful asset for clinical rotations.

I used this book after receiving recommendations for it from literally every person I knew who has been through Pediatrics at multiple medical schools. The book is thorough but doesn't drag you through muddy details, making it an excellent resource for figuring out patients with common problems. Reading it cover-to-cover, along with a question book like PreTest is excellent preparation for the shelf exam.

I think that this is an adequate review for pediatrics. It is also nice for going over basic medicine topics again. However, I have found many typos and errors in tables(and I am only on page 131 out of 300). For example, Table 10-1 lists all the hemolytic anemias and sickle cell as macrocytic. Later on the chapter does cover the material properly. These sorts of errors waste a lot of my mental time and effort.

This book has everything, I bought the older edition and it has everything you'll need to pass the boards, take care of pediatric patients, do well on a clinical rotation and beyond!!!
