Tips Unveiled Within from Experienced Professionals

This book is about hope and wisdom for those dealing with autistic spectrum disorder and about a community of professionals, parents, and friends who stand together to support and learn from one another. In this book, each group gives voice to its unique viewpoint, efforts, joys, and frustrations. This book is about seeing children with autism through each community member's eyes. One thing common to all of them is the utmost respect for life, and a driving desire to help autistic children. The characters are fictional, but the information they give is based on real experience over the author's 25 years in developing educational programs for children with autism and other children with special needs. This book can be a reference for in-house workshops in schools, and as supplemental reading for introductory courses in psychology and education. It can be a resource for pediatricians, family physicians, and parents about other professionals who work with and support children with autistic spectrum disorder.

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - Children with Autism and Their Allies in Action
There's a wonderful partnership that often develops among families, caregivers, professionals and communities who come together to support the lives of individuals with autism. It is a partnership filled with creativity, commitment, compassion and hope. The author has done a wonderful job capturing the essence of that special bond, and in so doing she has created a wonderful resource for all families living with the challenges of autism. Both as the mother of a young man who has autism, and as the executive director of Wildwood Programs, an organization that provides a wide range of community based programs and services for people of all ages who have autism and other developmental disabilities, I highly recommend this book.

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - MUST READ FOR MUSIC THERAPISTS IN AN EDUCATIONAL SETTING
Having worked in a school for people with autism for the last 30 years, I was delighted to read this book. As a music therapist, my greatest teachers and mentors have been my students and all the professionals with whom I've partnered to meet the needs of these students. Ms. Joshi's book is a firm validation of the importance and power of collaboration, communication and sharing as we work together to unlock the potential for each individual with whom we work.

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - A VERY GOOD GUIDE FOR THE PARENTS OF AUTISTIC CHILD
If you find yourself having to care for an Autistic child this book will serve as a great practical guide, which will take you through the heart of all the issues very effectively. Infact I feel it can give concerned professionals some pointers too. This book is very well written in simple language that any common person can understand. To elaborate the thinking of different family members, specialists etc. the author refers to the same child, Neil, through out the book, which makes it an interesting reading with a very good flow. I recommend this book to physicians, nurses and any one interested in Autism. M.K.Purohit, MD

I accidently came accross this book. I heard about autism but never bothered to find out. The presentation is excellent, a good resource book, specially for all healthcare professionals and parents with autistic child.
Even for a layman it holds your attention all 140 pages.

This book is a very helpful tool for families with a member with Autism as well as educators. It opens a door to understanding the child with Autism, putting yourself into their shoes and weighing the many decisions necessary for their educational growth and development and helping them to develop to their fullest potential.

Suman Joshi successfully and interestingly opens doors to view this child from many different perspectives.
