Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - Compare Ben's Life BEFORE and AFTER His Diagnosis With Asperger Syndrome
Ben had taken a real beating at school; he caught it from his cranky homeroom teacher, was bullied by Troy and Scott, and had a lot of trouble for telling the difference between the literal interpretations and the implications, which often led to misunderstanding.

But things had been gradually better since Miss Sue Browning-Lever saved Ben who Troy and Scott bullied. Then she became mellower and no longer ornery. I would have been perplexed if I had been Ben or Andy. However, they came to trust each other and after Ben's diagnosis with AS he found his life easier and more relaxing.

Certainly, most parents with challenged kids tend to be devastated when they heard their kids are impaired. But in the long run, the earlier they recognize their kids' disabilities, the earlier they may know how to cope with them. And this will encourage people with impairments to strengthen their pros and be more self-confident! And Ben was no exception. In this respect, I highly recommend you to read Asperger Syndrome, the Universe and Everything written by Kenneth Hall and Parenting a Child with Asperger Syndrome - 200 Tips and Strategies written by Brenda Boyd, Kenneth's Mom, as well.

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - Blue Bottle Mystery
This book gives a lot of insite into a childs life with Asperger's Syndrom. Not all children are the same as the one described, but some have simular trait's of some sort.
I purchased this book for my child, who has AS. He has read it and even commented on how it reminds him of how some things, have been for him.
I highly recommend this book.

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - Entertaining and Informative
This book is number one in a series of 3 so far. My son has Aspergers and this book has helped me to understand and thus educate others re: my sons idiosyncracies. All 3 of my children enjoyed this book.

Rated by buyers 4 out of 5 stars - Mrs de Jager-Pound's Social Skills class 2007/8
Ben's life seems to be hard for him until he finds a magical blue bottle. Then his life and his friend Andy's life suddenly changes for the better. Ben, his dad, and his teacher learn about Asperger Syndrome. The third wish will keep you guessing until the end. We recommend this book for readers eight years and up who want to learn more about Asperger Syndrome.

Rated by buyers 1 out of 5 stars - Not practical
Both the teacher (emotionally demanding) and the parent (materialistic and shallow) are presened in a very bad light. While the book is fiction, the resolutions (without giving any portion of the book away) are not in any way practical to the very real challenges of raising a child with special needs. While AS does have it's challenges, it should simply be presented as a "different way of being", so that the child with AS may prepare him/herself for life in an appropriate and practical way, to the best of his/her ability, and not to rely on the chance solutions presented in this book.
