The author's are extremely grounded in the Scriptures and this book will help you be grounded too. It functions a lot like a workbook once you get past the very first 2/3, which is very helpful for this sort of thing. The authors by no means intended this as a quick fix for the reader. The answer to your problems with anger can't be dealt with via methods but only through God's grace. This book, however, has been a very effective means of grace that God has used for me. I recomend it over any other in it's catagory.
