Product Description:
Neuroanatomy through Clinical Cases brings a pioneering interactive approach to the teaching of neuroanatomy, using over 100 actual Clinical Cases and high-quality radiologic images to bring the subject to life. This approach allows students to appreciate the clinical relevance of structural details as they are being learned, and to integrate knowledge of disparate functional systems, since a single lesion may affect several different neural structures and pathways.
Most of the book comprises chapters that explain the major neuroanatomical systems. Each chapter very first presents background material including an overview of relevant neuroanatomical structures and pathways, and a brief discusion of related clinical disorders. The second half of each chapter is devoted to clinical cases. The cases begin with a narrative of how the patient developed symptoms, and what deficits were found upon neurological examination. Boldface type highlights important symptoms and signs. A series of questions challenges the reader to deduce the neuroanatomical location of the patient's lesion, and the diagnosis. Discusion and answers follow, and an epilogue reveals the actual outcome.
One of the book's most innovative features is the inclusion of CT and MRI scans that depict each patient's lesion. These radiographs help the reader develop skills in interpreting the same kinds of diagnostic images employed in clinical practice.
The book is intended primarily for first- or second-year medical students enrolled in a basic neuroanatomy, neurobiology or neuroscience course. It is also a valuable resource for advanced medical students and residents, as well as students of other health professions, notably physical therapy, occupational therapy, nursing, dentistry, speech therapy, and neuropsychology.

This book gave me the crash course through neuro-anatomy I needed as a junior resident in neurology. I only wished I had this book as an intern so I could have read it then. The only negative about this book is that it does not focus a whole lot on the peripheral nervous system. So as I went to my outpatient months, this book was not as useful.
For central anatomy, I highly recommend this book to any neurology residents, medical students, or any other health professional who wants enjoyable lession on neuroanatomy.

An outstanding, clearly presented, easy-to-read text that any neurology resident or medical student interested in neurology will find useful. As a bonus, you get acess to online videos that demonstrate the complete neurological examination.
I passed my boards easily with this text as one of my key study resources. I couldn't recommend this book more highly.

I'm a very first year neurology resident and the book is really helpful in the daily clinical problems, being a fast way of reviewing neuroanatomy. I also got very satisfied with the delivery service: it arrived in Brazil in 14 days in excelent conditions!

I'm a medical student, and our chief resident for neurology at MGH told us to get this book. It is fabulous, and I'm so thankful that he told us to use this book. Neuroanatomy Through Clinical Cases is clear, concise, well-organized, and clinically useful. It is obvious that a lot of time has gone into editing this book. Each chapter has 20-40 pages of information, and then 20-40 pages of clinical cases. On top of it all, this is a fun read and the information will stick with you.
