Sent this to my sister who is always calling me for cooking info. It is a great book to give you basic knowledge and standard recipes. I hope my sister still has reason to call me now ;) Only drawback is a lack of pictures if you are one who needs that sort of info.

I purchased the Fannie Farmer Cookbook as a gift for my sister. I've used an earlier addition for many years and it's an excellent cookbook for traditional and contemporary American cuisine. The recipes are easy to follow, the early chapters provide vital reference information regarding food and cooking techniques and imperial to metric conversion charts are included. If you're looking for a straight-forward, time-tested cookbook that never talks down to you, this is it.

MY BOSS LOVES TO COOK, AND I AM ALSO COOK. SHE HAD SOFT COVER OF THE SAME BOOK, BUT THE ONE GET TORN APART, SO PERFECT PRESENT FOR HER WILL BE THIS BOOK. I FIND THIS BOOK VERY INTERESTING.
