Brenda L Boyd's book speaks of greed, injustice and indifference to the children and fathers involved in an imperfect judicial system's answer to paternal responsibility. Her look at only one man's story, is gripping, and stark with a man's search for love and family, which he never achieves. Despite his having a well paying job, he is forced into abject poverty by the greed of an ex-spouse requesting and receiving excessive child support.
I found Child Support: Is it a way of life, or blackmail, as an interesting and alarming book. The plight suffered by Sylvester Power, the main character, is powerful and in-escapable. Good editorial input was missing, and was evident through out the book.
