Easy read and quick page turner! I was quite impressed with the interesting way of the narrative and trhe vivid descriptions of the mood changes and out of control feelings. The reality of this disease can be devistating and you put it into everyday language that helped me understand it better. Thanks for taking the risk to put your life out there like that, but I'm sure there are many other people that could find solace in your experience. Good job Lora!!

Running Uphill is a fast moving page turner of Lora's tortured childhood and life living with depression, bipolar, suicide attempts and more. I just wanted to find her and give her a big hug. Her heartache, pain and struggles come accross so strong on the pages, her final victory and determination is just as clear. Kudos Lora on your courage to give us all more insight into the painful world of mental illness you have had to endure, and the bravery you show in living each day as it comes and handling this devastating illness. It was a great read. Just wish it had been longer. It brought a lot of things to light for me and helped me to understand what those with depression really do suffer with. I salute you.

This book is fantastic. It really shows the battle that is fought every day by people with depression and bipolar disorder. I reccommend this book for anyone seeking to make a change in their life and explore their disease further.

I read the book, laid it down and thought I had lived a tough life. Running Uphill explained Bi-Polar to me - what it does to a person - and how Lora heroically fought to overcome it.
She made me see unimagined sights and hear heart-rending sounds. In reading Running Uphill I came to see my life in a completely differently light. It was easy and pleasant.
No words of explanation can describe, explain, or express the pain and suffering she experienced in her life. I don't believe she knows how strong she is. In truth, she had no choice but to be strong when facing the reoccurring extremely frightening and life-threatening situations. On occasion she was more than ready to end the torment of those pressures - and her life. Surviving those moments, she confirms again and again her desire, hope, and determination to live as a human is entitle to live.
Running Uphill forces you to see your life as you've never seen it before. And, being a nice lady she relieves your anxieties at the conclusion. There are more than two million similar Bi-Polar stories out there which can and should be told.
Fortunately, in Running Uphill, Lora shared hers and hopefully those afflicted with Bi-Polar will find in this book the encouragement to follow her path to a successful conclusion. This book will be a "God-send" to those afflicted with Bi-Polar. For others, who read this, be prepared for a change in your views and attitude regarding your life.
